What are the rules for hand luggage?

For safety reasons, passengers are screened for dangerous substances and items that could pose a risk to passengers, crew members, or the aircraft. 

The following rules apply within the European Union:

You may carry liquids, gels, creams, and aerosols in your hand luggage only if they meet the following requirements:
- Each container must not exceed 100 ml.
- All liquids must be placed in a transparent, resealable plastic bag or toiletry bag with a maximum capacity of 1 liter.

Medication and baby food

You may carry more than 100 ml of medication and/or baby food in your hand luggage. If you are travelling with medication, you must be able to present a doctor's prescription or provide proof that the medication has been prescribed in your name. We also recommend bringing an English version of your prescription.

Liquid baby food is allowed when travelling with a baby.

You can also purchase duty-free liquids and gels at the airport after security and/or passport control, or on board your flight. These items will be packed and, where required, sealed. If you have a connecting flight, do not break the seal until you reach your final destination.

Power banks

Power banks may only be carried in your hand luggage. They are not permitted in checked baggage.

Please note that power bank regulations may vary depending on the airline you are travelling with. We recommend checking your airline's baggage policy before departure to ensure that your power bank complies with the applicable requirements.
