Yes, you can. The car rental company monitors your flight times and ensures someone is available when you arrive. If your flight is delayed, this will also be taken into account. You will always be able to collect your rental car.
Returning the car outside opening hours is also possible. In many cases, this is done via a key box. You park the car at the rental location and leave the keys in a secure drop box.
Please note that the rental company may charge an additional fee for pick-up or drop-off outside regular opening hours. You will see these costs during booking (step 1) and on your car rental voucher, which you receive about a week before departure. These costs are paid locally.
